These were some backgrounds I was commissioned to paint for Disney’s Mary Poppins theatre production. I created them on my iPad Pro using Procreate and used a pencil brush to add a vintage feel to the work. The advantage of the apple pencil is its tilt sensitivity. This is how I worked soft and hard lines into each background. The further the object, the softer I made it, which gave a sense of natural depth without having to use any blurring effects.
